You said you tried the extension that automatically detect and download the video on the page. Can you be a little more specific? I'm not sure which one you tried but I would suggest FlashGot or Downloadthemall or maybe try Jdownloader. (Jdownloader is NOT a plugin for firefox, its a third party download manager that can usually detect the videos on a url that its given. Side note: I don't use slide.ly.com myself, but I took a quick look at it and it looks like they might intentionally design their videos to be 'undownloadable'. Probably to avoid piracy and copyright problems. If that's the case then your only option might be to use some kind of screen capture software but no matter how well you do it it will still be a crappy alternative.
